Operation

The Yildun remote backup service enables real-time automatic backup of all company details with a minimum occupancy, thanks to the super compression system based on the previous version that it incorporates. This implies that the communication channel use is also minimized, it becomes up to several thousand times lower than the data processing volume and allows daily backups of large volumes of data. The service lets you safely maintain however many versions of information you want on external platforms in the Internet cloud, and accommodates the management and recovery of backup versions from any location necessary.

Set-up

The installation program packages all necessary system requirements for operation, so installation is easy. Once the software is installed, the system performs a pre-test to ensure the viability of the process.

The process begins with the Yildun program set-up, where you select the files and folders to include in the backup. This selection may be modified at any time. In order to schedule the backup program, you must select the frequency and execution time.

In addition, you also have the choice of entering an email to receive notifications when the backup process is complete, whether it is successful or there is an issue.

Backup

The backup begins with an initial version (base version), that is transmitted to the remote externally or on-line, depending on the volume generated. Subsequent backups are differential, known as patches and are typically sent on-line. All information is likewise encrypted and compressed. Our cloud platform stores both the base version and as many subsequent backups as desired for each client. Once the limit of patches allowed is reached, the oldest patches are incorporated into the base version of customer data automatically through a promotion process.

In addition to incorporating internal plug-ins for native backup of open databases (MSSQL Server, MySQL, Oracle), tables (Isam, DISAM) and document databases (Xerka), the service can backup open files (Outlook, any other) on all Windows platforms currently supported by Microsoft, using the Shadow Copy technology.

Replication

The backup server is in turn replicated remotely, closing the safety cycle with the backup from the backup server. The service that runs on the clients is aware of the existence of the backup server, so if the first server fails, then the client automatically goes to the second one that the service provides in its place. The service is thus continuous and uninterrupted.

Restoration

The selection of data to be restored is performed from a simple interface that allows you to retrieve a complete backup; a selection of files or directories; versions of a file from prior dates.

When restoring, the customer can choose whether they want to replace the latest version of those data or just have them in a secondary directory.

Security

One of the most highly-valued points is data security, which is why Yildun ensures the integrity, privacy and accessibility of information. To ensure safety, the program has the following features:

  • The user client enters their ley in the program.
  • Sending and storage of encrypted information with the key set by the user at all times.
  • The diffs have internal redundancy by section to ensure the integrity of each bit of information.
  • Self-healing on the server, both in deteriorated diff segments and previous versions, altered for any reason.
  • All data is run through Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which provides an improvement in security.

Accessibility

The backup server is accessible from anywhere on the Internet, so you can manage the backup system from the web, providing the username assigned by the server and the password to access the backup client application we have set up on our client.

Backup history

With the period chosen by the customer (weekly, monthly, yearly, etc.) the server system can record a complete copy of the customer information. The client can determine its rotation and if they want periodic mailing of this information on other supports for local storage. For example, you might want a copy every year, one from every month of the previous year and daily copy from the last month.

It keeps backups made at a certain time from previous periods that are no longer accessible from the on-line system and can be delivered to the customer on an external support when needed.
