Another virus in recent years is Disstrack, also known as Shamoon. In particular, it's a worm.

Disstrack overwrites and destroys several kinds of documents (documents, pictures, videos) that are found in different files: Downloads, My Documents, My Images, Videos and Music in the Windows operating system.

Besides leaving the kinds of documents mentioned useless, it also modifies the system's master boot record so that it won't start again.

The propagation of this worm was carried out through shared network drives, P2P applications and via email.
